Waiting for a Dream

Object made for Studio44 exhibition The Secret of living in the present at BELKA Studio for Sound and Form, Sofia, Bulgaria, 2025

cardboard, papier maché, acrilic, playwood

As an homage to Martin Penev’s artwork, presented at the BELKAS exhibition at Studio44 in 2024, and rooted in nostalgic childhood memories, I chose to depict a fully grown polar bear—rendered in a low-polygon form—still waiting for his dream to appear.

Much like the bear himself, his long-awaited dream is equally unsophisticated in form. Though bright and colorful, it remains simple—emerging, quite fittingly, from the bear’s rear end.

This object was presented to Martin Penev as a tribute and token of deep respect for his creative work.
